Review payment information and walk through all the steps to register for offerings.
How do I find programs and courses?
Browse the course catalog MSU PRO for workforce professionals and MSU Learn for lifelong learning opportunities offered across MSU’s departments and colleges, including MSU Extension. You can also browse the entire course catalog using the Open Enrollment menu item. You will see drop-down options for viewing all programs, multi-program series, and programs by subject area.
How do I create an account and log in?
To set up your account
- Navigate to the Learner Portal
For new learners
- Create an account as a New User
- Enter your email address and retype your email address to confirm
- This email address is upper and lower case sensitive.
- Click on Create Account
Next, create your profile
- Enter your First and Last name
- Enter your home address and phone number
- Enter your Employer Information and Job Title (if required)
- This information is important for specific program offerings. If you are a lifelong learner or retired, you may fill that in accordingly.
- Next, please select your contact preferences and review the privacy policy.
- Click Submit
Next, please check your email from Michigan State University to set up your password. The email will come from noreply@next.msu.edu.
Once you have created your password, log in to the Learner Portal or browse the course catalog to view and register for course or program offerings.
Already have an account?
- If you’ve registered for courses before, log in using the email address and password you have created.
Forgot your password?
- Go to the Learner Login page and click on Forgot Password, and enter your email address that is indicated on your account, click Continue. You will receive an email to reset your password.
How to Register
Once you have identified a course or program and have your log in credentials ready:
- Search for your program of interest, under Register Now, click on the available section plus sign to open the section details.
- Select the Add to Cart button.
- Proceed to the enrollment checkout page, select the Checkout button.
- You will be asked to log in to your account, enter your email address and password.
- Enter your payment information, including your credit card number, expiration date, security code (CVV). Enter the billing address associated with your card. This address must match the billing address on file with your card issuer, or your payment may be declined.
- Read and agree to the policy confirmation by clicking the checkbox beneath the statement, then select the Continue Checkout button.
- After completing your payment, you will receive an email from Michigan State University for your registration confirmation and receipt.
Payment and Confirmation of Registration
You may register online by locating the course on the website and paying with any major credit card. You can view the course fees and cost on each course registration page.
Registration is not complete and will not be confirmed until MSU receives one of the following: full payment, or if a paid deposit on an agreed payment plan is available, or after submitting company billing information your company acknowledges MSU’s invoice with an approved purchase order. By registering for any MSU’s Professional and Continuing Education offerings you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
You will receive a registration notification and confirmation email with your receipt from Michigan State University. This email will contain information regarding your course dates and any instructions to access your course materials or in-person event information.
Upon Confirmation
- Online self-paced programs - access to course materials and the learning platform will be granted within one business day of registration confirmation.
- Online live synchronous programs - a virtual meeting link will be provided. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary technology and internet access prior to the start date.
- Hybrid Programs - separate instructions will be provided for both online and in-person components. Attendance requirements for each component will be outlined at confirmation.
- In-person and multi-day programs - confirmation will include a schedule, location details, and any materials or pre-work required before the first session.
