Course Overview

Implementing biosecurity procedures on a farm will help reduce the exposure of horses to disease. Biosecurity management includes establishing a preventative health-care program that incorporates practicing strategic vaccination and parasite control and keeping thorough health records. Biosecurity also includes knowing how diseases can be spread in the environment and through both direct and indirect contact with people, animals, and equipment. This course explores different biosecurity practices and examines your horse's risks of contracting a disease based on their environment, management, and travel.
