School Social Worker Competency Series

The School Social Worker Competency Series is designed for individuals with an MSW looking to enhance their expertise in social work interventions within educational settings. It focuses on assessment and the integration of psychological and educational testing for children with special needs. This three-course series aligns with the educational standards established by the Michigan Department of Education. We are an MDE approved school social worker preparation program. 

Registration Information 

Save by registering for the full series with our bundled option using the "Add to Cart" button to the right. The bundle allows you to register and pay for all three courses at once, and you will select your preferred course dates when adding the bundle to your cart.

Courses may be taken in any order.

There is no application process, you simply need to register for each course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is there an application process?  

A: There is no application process. Simply register for the courses to join.  

Q: Do I need an MSW to complete the series?

A: Yes, participants must have an MSW to complete the series. 

Q: Do I have to attend online classes at certain times? 

A: These are online classes and there are no assigned class meeting times. However, please be aware that there are deadlines and due dates, mostly weekly, set by instructors. 

Q: What if I need to drop a class? 

A. You are able to drop a class or transfer to a different available section up to one week before the course start date.  You can start the process to drop or transfer in your participant portal. 

Q: Are refunds available? 

A: Refunds will be given less a 5% administrative fee one-week before the course start date.  Students who drop the course one week into the course will be given a refund less 50% administrative fee.  After the first week no refunds will be issued.
